Hi, and welcome to my garden services website. My name is Jacqueline Houston and I have been gardening in the Seattle area for 35 years. I also studied horticulture and garden design at Edmonds Community College horticulture program, and am a Master Gardener of King County, answering questions from the general public on gardening topics. I have experience working with sun, shade, varied soils, privacy requirements and assorted garden challenges, and I have also planned and helped maintain the gardens of several friends in the area.
I grew up in England where gardening is a national passion, and so I can draw on all of those rich traditions of English gardens as well as my 35 years of experience as to what grows best in this area, and with our changing climate.
Working as a Master Gardener means that I am familiar with the latest recommendations for best practices in the garden. In particular, I am passionate about combining beauty and practical needs with plenty of good things for the bees, butterflies and birds of our region. I also delight in rescuing old plantings and gardens from neglect and giving them a new lease of life.
